Spiritual Mentoring – Big Idea
Spiritual Mentoring simply stated is relationship-based discipleship.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals, and to prayer.”
— Acts 2:42 NLT
“And to fellowship”: What is the best environment for us to learn something or to be open and transparent? An environment where we are known, loved, and accepted. Once we have established the focus for our growth (last week), then we need to be sure to establish the atmosphere for growth. The best place is a safe place where we know that our mentor or small group is for us and has our back. Growth is not perfection, but a consistent, intentional movement toward the desired outcome. Ask yourself: How am I doing in finding this kind of person or group? How am I doing at being that person for someone else?
