Showing God’s Love: Big Idea: Take a moment and show God’s love to a neighbor.
So often we get caught up in going to work and when we come home, up goes the garage, in goes the car, and we don’t interact with our neighbor unless it is a wave of the arm or a quick high as we see them briefly. God placed us in the neighborhood in which we live to be His ambassador. It takes time, effort and sometime a little money. You can shovel their sidewalk if you have snow, pick up any trash that may be in their yard, or you can intentionally make a loaf of banana bread, or something you can just take over and drop it by and tell them how glad you are that you two are neighbors – even if there may be something about them you are not thrilled with. It will open the door to share the reason for our faith, when we initiate the a new step in the relationship that let’s us know we care. (BTW: My wife makes the banana bread to have on hand in our house so the neighbors have something they will enjoy eating. 😊)
This week – pick a neighbor and plan to do something unique for them and spend a little time getting to know them.
