Big Idea: Isolation
Isolation is a very dangerous path to walk. It can pose a serious threat to our personal growth, our relationship with Christ, and with others around us – including our family and friends.
Isolation means removing ourselves from the support and influence of others. The person who chooses to isolate as a lifestyle may have talked himself into thinking that he is a loner and simply doesn’t need others.
What a dangerous place that puts that man. When the animals in the wild isolate and move away from the herd, they are then able to be picked off by their enemies. The same is true for all of us as well. When we isolate, we are never more vulnerable! We isolate ourselves for a lot of different reasons: fear, depression, feelings of worthlessness, rejection, and many more.
Where do you place yourself on the isolation scale? What has happened that moves you towards isolation? Who do you know that is isolating and needs your outreach to pull them back?
