Big Idea: Money is only a Tool to Accomplish Much
Too often money consumes us, either because of a lack of it or because of the hunger for more. Make no mistake money can consume us. Jesus spoke more of money than any other topic during His time on earth – recorded for us now in the Bible. It is not if, but when we are consumed by money. Do we use it as a tool to bless others and God’s Kingdom, or are we in a contest to see how much we can obtain and keep? Paul said – the love of money is the root of all evil. I Timothy 1:10. Check yourself to see where you fit on this spectrum.
Are you one who will give your money to your local church – those in need – to be used to bless others? Are you one who is consumed by money if not for survival, then for consuming? If you think about it, money possesses our thoughts in some manner much more than we would like to admit. We have a false allusion that “just a little bit more” will satisfy us.
Today – do one thing that helps release the grip the money has on you. Do one more thing tomorrow, and so on. Use your money – or lack of money – as a tool to grow closer to God.
