Leadership Principles: Big Idea: Do Right Every Time -Martin Luther King, Jr.
The full quote is: “DO right every time, don’t have a need to BE right.” He spoke of not overthinking the future, not letting regrets hold you back from accomplishing your goals, learning from your past, and not making the same mistakes again.
If you have a deep need to be right, it will consistently lead to conflict, broken relationships, and distrust in your relationships. Martin Luther King, Jr. also said: “The time is always right to do what is right.”
Today – carefully consider your interactions with family, coworkers, employees, neighbors, and of course your fellow Christians at church: What are my motivations here and how am I coming across? Am I trying to do right or is my need to be right overruling my conversations with those I care about?
