Leadership Quotes: Big Idea: You cannot change the fruit if you do not change the root. 

Many of us do our best to change our behavior when there are things about us that we may not like. How long do those behavioral changes usually last?  The truth is an apple tree will always produce apples.  If you want oranges, you have to take down the apple tree and plant and nurture an orange tree.  Many of us try to hide the apples and tape on the oranges to the apple tree so we look like we have changed. The fruit is always connected to the root. What fruit do you want to bear – change the root.

Galatians 5:22 tells us the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. Is this the fruit you want? The root is the Spirit of God in your life.

Today:  Check the fruit in your life – is it what you want it to be?  If not, you need a strong relationship with the Spirit of God. Only God can change the root.
