Finishing Well – Big Idea
Next to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, the biggest influence on a child is the earthly father.
Stephen Blankenhorn in his book, Fatherless America: Tonight about 40% of American children will go to sleep in the homes in which their fathers do not live. Before they reach the age of eighteen, more than half of our nations children are likely to spend at least a significant portion of their childhood, living apart from their fathers. Never in our history have so many children been voluntarily abandoned by their fathers.
Deuteronomy 28:6; May you be blessed in your coming in and your going out.
In other words, you seek God’s blessing and favor in all you do. As you seek God’s Blessing (God’s will for you), He has promised to guide you.
Ask yourself if you have children: how am I doing in being involved in the life of my children? Regardless of how my father was involved in my life, how am I showing them to face and deal with life with its ups and downs? How am I showing them how to live a victorious Christian life?
