Spiritual Disciplines: Prayer

by | Apr 5, 2023

Spiritual Disciplines: Big Idea: Prayer – talking to Almighty God, who is also your best friend.

The dictionary defines prayer as “a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God.” The Bible has many examples of prayer that illustrate that communication with the Almighty God is not to be taken lightly and is also in the context of our best friend.  This Almighty God loved us enough to send his only Son to die for us so we can have a relationship with Him.  Because of His great love, let’s find a way to talk to God all through the day – knowing He has the power to help us and the desire to hear from His children.

The Bible calls that kind of prayer, continuous prayer.  It can and will change your life, and your eternity.  Enjoy the journey with God as you learn to pray like this.  If you have to do so – set something up to remind you to pray:  a rubber band on your wrist, your phone alarm going off, or whatever works for you.
