Being Thankful: Big Idea: Gratitude improves confidence. When we are grateful, we’re less likely to compare ourselves to others. Guess what? Those who don’t play the comparison game are more likely to be content, confident, happy, and able to appreciate other people’s accomplishments. Confidence gives us the ability to focus on things outside of ourselves. With an outward focus, trying new things, caring for others, and being content with where we are in life becomes our mindset rather than thinking we are “less than” because someone is more “successful” than we are. And really our perception of another’s success is only what we think they are based on outward appearances.
Today: Know that God gives you confidence because your sins are forgiven, know that He made you the way you are for a specific purpose, and know that how someone lives their life, the success they appear to have, is of no concern to you as you focus on fulfilling the God-given mission he has given to you personally. Psalm 139:13-16
