Dear Prayer Partners,
Wow – here we are already in December. Both Jim and I are in awe of what God has chosen to do through MMC in 2023. MMC just released Jim’s newest book, The Watchman. The initial feedback is outstanding. I know this book has been brewing in Jim’s heart for a couple of years and the timing is so appropriate right now. He sends a clear message on God’s call to men to take the biblical stand that Scripture mandates. PRAY this clarion call for men to become “watchman and protectors” has a measurable impact with those who engage with the message.
In 2023 MMC had tremendous ministry opportunities around our country. We are working with churches in Texas, Arizona, Colorado, California, Oregon, Florida, and Idaho. Our role is to help guide and equip pastors and leaders of men to inspire their men about authentic discipleship. There is a growing hunger among men for the things of God. Perhaps our efforts and prayers will help bring revival to the men of this great country. PRAY for more pastors to catch the vision in their own heart and lead the men of their church by praying for the Spirit of God to bring eternal transformation.
Outside of this country, MMC was in Mexico multiple times in 2023. We were involved in speaking at city-wide revival meetings, Men’s Conferences, participating in the 30th Anniversary International Celebration, and inspiring Pastors from 130 churches. PRAY that God will be able to raise up more pastors, reach more men, see more families reconciled to God. We trust this will impact their local communities for Jesus Christ.
That is the passion and prayer of their leader of this organization, Pastor Ariel Romero, and we will join him as he fervently asks God to reveal himself in the 20 counties in which all of his churches are located. PRAY for strong men to rise up as leaders to reach their God given vision for planting churches in over 1,000 local communities in the 20 countries in which they currently reside.
We were also invited to speak at a men’s conference in Tanzania. After months of discussion with the local bishop and with earnest prayer, we believe God led us to go to this country to help inspire and equip its leadership with disciple-making messages and resources. We ended up being there for an extended time of ministry and were able to travel to various parts of their country. It was clear the power of God was present and we witnessed many lives transformed during this time. We also see their passion to reach men, in a country where men are marginalized, suicide among men is very high, and the morale of men is at an all-time low.
It sounds like the perfect setting for God to step in and do a mighty work among the men. While the church is growing very rapidly and many new churches are being planted, men are slow to move into strong spiritual leadership. There are generational curses that need to be broken. PRAY for God’s favor on Archbishop Daniel Moses Kulola and his pastors, and they continue to cast the vision throughout the country that God is on the move among the men of their churches. PRAY that the leaders in each area of the country will be able to relationally show the men how God’s desire and design for them is to be transformed by the Spirit of God to love their wives as Christ loves the church, to lead their children as a Godly father would, and to be able to find productive work to feed their families and be generous with their local church. Only God through committed hearts can make that happen.
Jim and I just recently spent a week with leaders of the Anglican Church from New Zealand. The New Zealand leaders were in the US to meet with MMC so they could better understand how to disciple men and to learn from our experiences how to develop ministry to men. It was an amazing week of transformation within them as they moved from wanting to see a program and get more education on how to reach men, to a relational discipling model that we know Jesus demonstrated with all of those around Him. We are excited that they left with a thorough understanding of MMC and how to make disciples who make disciples. PRAY the passion and vision these men captured burns deep within their theology– so deep they cannot get distracted or discouraged and loose the fire for reaching the men of the Anglican churches in New Zealand. PRAY that they lead others to catch the vision and embrace with passion a renewal of the church and reaching the lost. PRAY for revival in New Zealand.
Pray for Financial Resources:
December is our one and only time to cast a vision and to ask our wonderful Faith Partners to join with us financially. Given the economic winds, wars, and other disturbances, it becomes easy for all of us to pull back and expect the worst. We are asking our Faith Partners to step forward in faith knowing that today is the day of renewal and salvation. It is now that Christian men need to step forward, not be tentative, and boldly proclaim the Gospel in our behavior and words. God has a unique call on this ministry and we are asking our Faith Partners to stand with us so we can take new territory in 2024. Pray that God will provide the financial support to match the vision. Hopefully you saw the list of 2024 MMC Initiatives. That list is really just the tip of the spear on what God has asked us to do.
These are challenging are challenging times. We remind ourselves and those we serve what God said to Joshua – “Be strong and of good courage”. That is our message to you as well. As we continue to step out in faith, God will provide the way forward.
We are boldly asking for your faithful prayer support. There is nothing we can do in our strength that has any eternal impact. Thanks for standing with us.
May God richly bless you as we labor together.
