Everyone says the church are male dominated, and while that may be true in the pulpit, the pews are definitely mostly pink!! The average church in America is 61% female. Where are the men? That is the question that caused David Murrow to write the book Why Men Hate Going to Church.
The small church is the backbone of America. There are roughly 300,000 churches in America. Of those, 95% have less than 500 attending, 87% have less than 200 attending, and 75% of the churches in America have less than 100 attending. Given those numbers, it is imperative that we take the time, resources, and effort to support the small church pastor. If you are that small church pastor, this episode is really for you. Worry is often the product that comes when we are distracted and fail to distinguish the incidental from the essential or the urgent from the important in our life.
